Friends and Family Abound

When 72 year old Margo Kirchner was diagnosed with colorectal cancer in June 2000, she didn't give up on life. She simply set out to conquer it after all she recently recovered from two total hip surgeries. Since being told she has cancer Margo has had surgery, received radiation therapy and chemotherapy. She continues with the chemotherapy, now almost two years later, and has learned to live with her colostomy.

Margo with her grandson.Despite all of that Margo continues to lead an active lifestyle. She exercises in the pool every morning and rides her tricycle 2-3 times per week for 5 miles. Margo attends church regularly and often goes on social outings with her friends and/or family. Margo has always been active. She worked up until the time she was diagnosed with cancer in San Angelo Texas, where she also belonged to several civic organizations and helped with fund raising events. Margo remembers that when she would get home from work there was always something to do. It wasn't possible to sit around and no nothing.

Margo moved to Florida shortly after her cancer surgery so that she could be closer to her family. Besides living a healthly lifestyle Margo has a great attitude. "Every day is a blessing and I am thankful each day I have. Friends and family are all that matter" reports Margo.
