You
would never know it by looking at Logan Franklin but he
just turned 64 this past October. Logan has been
exercising since the age of 13 and it shows. He started
out lifting weights and later tried running, hiking,
swimming, playing handball and martial arts. He currently
lifts weights three days a week for 45-60 minutes and
then cardio trains for three days a week. Logan and his
wife, Patty are taking aerobic kickboxing for two of
those three days and plan to get certified to teach it.
It hasn't always been easy for Logan. He remembers a time
when he felt miserable for two years. He was finally
diagnosed with "Chronic Fatigue Syndrome".
Logan had to cut back on the hours he worked, stop
exercising and changed his diet. Over time he began to
feel better and began adding fitness to his daily life
again.
Besides fitness Logan is interested in art. He is an
artist, a painter and printmaker. Although retired, he
keeps busy with exhibits and shows. Logan maintains two
web sites, www.logansart.com and http://home.earthlink.net/~grayiron/. Logan's advice to others over
50 is to exercise regularly with any activity you enjoy.
He believes a balance or resistance exercise, cardio and
stretching is the best.and that you should practice
portion control so you don't overeat.
