![]() Last June, Barbara Robinson ran 1:46:03 to smash the 65-69 age-group record at the Mount Washington (N.H.) Road Race 7.6-miler by 26 minutes. Robinson, 66, of Franconia, N.H., trained hard for the race by running as many as 12 x 800-meter hill repeats. "I knew if I had a good day I could run under 1:50," says Robinson, a member of the New England 65 Plus Runners Club and White Mountain Milers. "Two years ago I let the mountain defeat me. This time I wasn't going to let that happen." *Reprinted by permission of Runner's World magazine. Copy written 2000, Rodele Press, Inc. All right reserved. |
